New Lenox
Although New Lenox was first settled in the late 1820’s, it was not officially incorporated as a village until 1946. New Lenox has a total area of about 10.1 square miles and is home to about 23,000 residents.
With the completion of the I-355 expressway extension of the interstate highway system to meet with the I-80 expressway in New Lenox, travel times to more established northern suburbs such as Naperville, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle, etc is expected to decrease by as much as 20%. This improvement is expected to cause New Lenox to grow even more rapidly.
