Orland Park
Orland Park is a village of about 56,000 extends slightly into Will County. In 2006, Orland Park was awarded the title of “45th Best Place to Live In America” by Money magazine. It was until somewhat recently known as a farm community with flat tillable terrain. There is a wide range of housing from modest to very upscale. In recent years the Orland area has been one of the fastest growing communities in the United States.
Orland Park is located 26 miles southwest of Chicago’s Loop. It was settled as a small farm village more than a hundred years ago and has grown into a large, progressive community. While surrounded by lush forest preserves, Orland Park is easily accessible to the Loop via Metra’s commuter rail system and several interstate highways including I-57, 294/Tri-State Tollway, and I-55/Stevenson Expressway. Interstate 80 access is available at the southern border providing great cross-country connections.
While Orland Park is largely residential, the area has several industrial areas and shopping centers including Orland Square Mall and Orland Town Center. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Village Recreation and Park Departments.

Orland Park is served by three elementary school districts and is within Consolidated High School District 230. A number of parochial school also serve the community. A majority of the village is located within Orland School Dist 135 with those living north of 135th Street being in Palos School District 118. The east side of the village, namely those east of 80th Avenue are within Community Consolidated School District 146 and the southern end of Orland Park is part of Kirby School District 140.
