Tinley Park
Tinley Park was founded by an industrious group of German immigrants in the 1830’s. The village was officially established as Bremen in 1853 and changed in 1890 to Tinley Park. It is a city of about 48,500 and spans 18 square miles.
There are a wide variety of housing options ranging from single family bungalows and two story homes to luxurious contemporary and traditional homes. There are a number of apartment complexes.
The village is boarded by Forest Preserves and has paths for hiking, riding, and cross country skiing. There are ponds for fishing, many golf courses, picnic sites, and nature trails. The Park District maintains 39 parks and a 18 hole golf course. Tinley’s newest park, Centennial Park, in the heart of the Village, features a playground and paved walking trails meandering around a 12.5 acre pond. The Aqua Center is a beautiful 5.2 acre water park and picnic grove, featuring a 25 meter Olympic-size pool.
Tinley Park is situated near 3 major expressway systems for easy access to Chicago.
